St. Patrick’s Day Creative Fun
St. Patrick’s Day is Fast Approaching
Let’s have some creative fun and learn a little while we do it! You can print this activity sheet and follow the instructions below.
Supplies:
- Red Acrylic Paint
- Yellow Acrylic Paint
- Blue Acrylic Paint
- Paint Brush
- White Paper
- Disposable plates
- Wet Wash Cloth or Baby Wipes (to clean hands between colors)
Prep:
You may want to put down a protective covering on your table.
It’s also a good idea for your child to wear craft/paint clothes.
Squirt a good amount of red on your disposable plate and spread it around so your child can dip his or her hand into it then have them carefully place their hand on the white paper, starting at the bottom left. Wipe their hand clean and do the same thing with the yellow paint. Have your child overlap the yellow onto the red. Repeat with the blue paint. As your child goes along, have them create an arch with their handprints with each one over lapping a little. Soon they will see that red and yellow mixed turns to orange. Yellow and blue mixed together makes green and blue and red makes purple.
This is a fun little project for kids and gives them something to hang up for St. Patrick’s Day.
